Exhibition Space Agreement

TERMS

1.     A non-refundable exhibit fee of $200 for a two-month exhibition is due two months in  advance of the exhibition opening. 

2.  The length of this show is approximately 2 months. The installation of artwork and tags will take place after 5:00 PM according to designated schedule and the opening reception will be the following Sunday (or other date and time with approval).

3.  Artwork must be presentation quality.  Two-Dimensional artwork must have a back wire for hanging (no sawtooth).  Sculptural three-dimensional artwork must be stable and will be displayed on the hallway shelves or safely hung on walls.  Floor easels are not allowed. 

4.  The Expressions team reserves the right to refuse non-quality art, unstable sculptures, or improperly wired artwork to maintain aesthetic and cohesive exhibitions.

5.  Artists are responsible for the installation of their artwork.  Artists may display Bio information in addition to their artworks. Curators will be on hand to advise installing and placement of the artwork. Expressions supplies a wall hanging system and ladders for your use.  For group shows, we suggest a maximum of three artists to install the entire exhibit.

6.  Artists will provide wall tags for their art, using standard business card size paper (2 x 3½ inches) for each piece of artwork at time of installation. Each tag must include: title of work, name of artist, the medium, and selling price. For group shows, wall tag appearance and style must be similar for all artists in the show.

7.  Artists must provide two copies of an inventory of artwork displayed in this exhibit. Inventory must include title of work, name of artist, medium and selling price.  One copy is given to the Curator, and one copy is filed at the front desk.

8.  Two months prior to the exhibition opening, artists will provide a digital show flyer, bio and examples of artwork for promotion and inclusion on the Expressions Gallery website.

9.  The Exhibition will be open Monday through Friday during business hours at Grand Living Realty. All changes to a scheduled time or date must be pre-approved by a Curator.

10.  Artist will comply with terms of the Agreement and will self-insure for any damages that may occur during installation, while artwork is on display or during removal.

11. No photos of artwork are allowed to be taken without permission from artists.

SALES

1.  The front desk will encourage potential buyers to contact artists directly. If the front desk handles a sale they will accept checks only. Checks will be payable to artists.  Selling price is equal to the amount recorded on art inventory and wall tag.  

2.  If the buyer takes the artwork at the time of sale, the artist must replace removed/sold artwork with another piece and update inventory with replacement information.

3.  The gallery/front desk will notify the artist and curator of a sale.

4.  The Gallery does not charge commission on artist sales.

5.  The Gallery will give the artist their check for artwork sold when most convenient for both.

6.  Artists assume sales tax responsibility.

PROMOTION

1.  Expressions Gallery will promote the exhibition through its sizeable email list and website.

2.  Artists will promote their exhibition through their social media and news organizations.

OPENING RECEPTION

1.  Receptions are from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM on a Sunday following the art installation.  

2.  Artists are responsible for providing refreshments served in the reception room. The patio area is available when the weather permits.  

3.  Artists must clear and clean the reception room afterward.

Gallery viewing is Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM. To prevent disruption during business hours, all Expressions tasks are done after 5:00 pm. If requesting access beyond operating hours, contact the curatorial team.

Gallery Exhibition Agreement

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE AND DUE DATE INFORMATION

1.  Exhibitions run for approximately 2 months and are open for viewing Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM.  Note that holidays during the span of this show may result in more days when the office could be closed.

2.  The $200 flat exhibition fee is due 2 months before opening, regardless of the number of artists participating.  Pay to the order of Priscilla Humay. 

3.  Exhibition Flyer is due 6 weeks prior to opening.  Format JPG.   Email to:  pmhumay@gmail.com  

4.  Digital Art Samples and Bio are due 6 weeks prior to opening.  Format JPG, PDF, and/or DOC.  Email to: pmhumay@gmail.com

5.  Installation begins at 5:00 pm on the scheduled date.  No artwork can be dropped off prior.  For group shows, no more than three artists are to install the entire exhibit.

6. The opening reception is held from 1:00–3:30 p.m. on the Sunday after installation. Artists must coordinate an early arrival with the curator to set up refreshments and must clean the reception area afterward.

7. Deinstallation takes place after 5:00 p.m. on the gallery’s scheduled date, at a time coordinated with the curatorial team. All artwork must be removed then.
